IP Ambassador summer summit 2026 focuses on intellectual asset management and standardization
The IP Ambassador Summer Summit 2026 took place in Split, Croatia, from 1–2 July 2026. The event was organized by the European IP Helpdesk in cooperation with the IAM4RE.eu project. Among the participants was Dr. Tina Mesarič, Head of the Knowledge and Technology Transfer Office at the University of Maribor and a member of the European IP Ambassadors network.
The programme was designed to strengthen participants’ expertise in Intellectual Asset Management (IAM), knowledge valorisation, standardization, and the effective transfer of research results into practice. Through expert lectures, interactive workshops, and case studies, participants explored contemporary approaches to managing and valorising intellectual assets, as well as the role of standardization in the successful commercialization of innovations.
A particular highlight of this year’s summit was the Train-the-Trainer pilot programme, which aims to enhance the competencies of IP Ambassadors and enable them to further disseminate knowledge within their organizations and regional innovation ecosystems. As part of the programme, participants also took part in the interactive Nulissi Challenge simulation, where they developed decision-making skills through practical case scenarios focusing on standardization, FRAND licensing, and the market uptake of innovations.
The summit provided an excellent platform for exchanging best practices, establishing new professional connections, and strengthening collaboration among European experts in intellectual property, knowledge valorisation, and technology transfer. The knowledge and experience gained during the event will make a valuable contribution to the continued development of support services for researchers and the effective management of intellectual assets at the University of Maribor.
