Innovating Tradition: Slovenian Company Boosts Manufacturing with AI

In a world where speed and precision are key competitive advantages, the Slovenian company Plamtex Int d.o.o. has taken a step forward in the digital transformation of industrial manufacturing. Specializing in thermoplastic injection molding for demanding components — particularly for the automotive industry — the company partnered with an international research team to optimize one of the most challenging parts of production: tool design and manufacturing.

In collaboration with researchers from the Department of Computer Systems and the Department of Intelligent Systems at the Jožef Stefan Institute, they developed machine learning-based predictive models that enable better planning, savings in raw materials and energy consumption, and shorter delivery times for final products.

The implementation of these smart tools into Plamtex Int’s processes clearly shows that tradition and high-tech innovation can go hand in hand.
