Organized by the University of Primorska, Faculty of Management, and the University of Trieste (DEAMS), the conference has served for a quarter of a century as an international platform for the exchange of knowledge, research achievements, and best practices among researchers, experts, and representatives of the academic, business, and public sectors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This year&#8217;s conference, titled Bridging Gaps, Building Futures: Business and Policy in a Complex World, brought together 130 participants from more than 25 countries, with approximately 100 researchers presenting their work. Discussions focused on current geopolitical, economic, and societal challenges, with particular emphasis on management, economics, entrepreneurship, sustainable development, digitalization, and artificial intelligence, as well as the role of collaboration between science, industry, and policymakers in developing sustainable solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An important part of the program was the pre-conference day for doctoral students, which was organized this year in cooperation with the University of Primorska&#8217;s Knowledge Development and Transfer Centre (CRPZ UP) within the UNIK@TT project. This initiative further strengthened support for early-career researchers and encouraged stronger links between research activities and the innovation and entrepreneurial ecosystem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The conference also featured two special sessions dedicated to knowledge transfer and its societal impact. The Knowledge Valorisation session, chaired by Dr. Simona Kustec, addressed issues related to the evaluation and self-assessment of knowledge transfer activities within research organizations, as well as the development of indicators for monitoring their effectiveness. The session was organized within the ISERO project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Social Innovation \u2013 Communication of Science through Art session, chaired by Dr. Jana Hojnik, highlighted the importance of social innovation and science communication through art as an approach to enhancing the societal impact of research. Representatives from the organizations PiNA, Kersnikova Institute, and MMC KIBLA presented best practices in knowledge transfer through artistic approaches, demonstrating how creative methods can increase the reach and societal impact of scientific knowledge.
