The former Tiepolo-Gravisi Palace remained in its historically unfinished state until the archaeological excavations that began in 1993 and the subsequent renovation carried out as part of the Shared Culture project between 2009 and 2013. The research provided the basis for developing professional guidelines and principles for preserving the most valuable stylistic and architectural elements, ensuring the palace’s protection, renovation, and presentation, as well as determining its current function as the headquarters of the Science and Research Centre Koper.
