Online Seminar: Od ideje do pravic: kako deluje avtorsko pravo v resničnem svetu
The Knowledge and Technology Transfer Office (University of Maribor) is organizing an online seminar Od ideje do pravic: kako deluje avtorsko pravo v resničnem svetu (From Idea to Rights: How Copyright Works in the Real World), which will take place on Tuesday, 17 March 2026, at 10:00.
The lecture will provide an overview of the fundamental concepts of copyright law, with a particular focus on what qualifies as a copyrighted work and which rights arise from it. Participants will become familiar with moral and economic rights, as well as other authors’ rights and the scope of individual rights. Special attention will be devoted to rights in legal transactions (transfer of rights and licensing), the proper management of copyright in practice, and the enforcement of rights in court proceedings.
Participation in the lecture is free of charge; however, registration is mandatory here.
The seminar will be held in Slovene.
The lecture will be delivered by Eva Gostiša, partner at Jadek & Pensa. Her work focuses primarily on intellectual property. In the field of trademarks and designs, she advises on protection and enforcement of rights, while in the area of patents she represents clients in litigation. She has also gained extensive experience in employee inventions, copyright law, and unfair competition, advising clients and representing them in related disputes.
