Competition for the best innovation with commercial potential from public research organizations – 19th International Technology Transfer Conference (ITTC)

Researchers who have a technology, invention, or innovation with promising market potential are invited to apply for the Competition for the Best Innovation with Commercial Potential from Public Research Organizations, which will be held as part of the 19th International Technology Transfer Conference (ITTC 2026). The competition aims to identify and support breakthrough research achievements with the potential for successful commercialization and significant social and economic impact.

The organizers are looking for breakthrough technologies, innovations, and inventions with clear potential for successful market entry. The competition provides an opportunity to present business propositions based on early-stage research results to an international evaluation committee composed of investors and technology commercialization experts.

Selected applicants will present their ideas during Pitch Day, where the evaluation committee will assess the commercial potential of the proposed solutions. In addition to competing for the award, participants will receive valuable feedback and guidance to support the further development and commercialization of their innovations.

• 2 September 2026 – Application submission deadline.

• 7 October 2026 – Pitch Day presentations during the conference in Novo Mesto.

Prior to the application deadline, preparatory workshops, individual mentoring sessions, and pitch practice events will be organized to help applicants prepare high-quality submissions and effective presentations for the evaluation committee.

All information disclosed during the evaluation process will be treated as confidential, as this part of the conference is not open to the public.
