A Cup of Knowledge with Eva Mustafa

Eva Mustafa, an alumna of the Biotechnical Faculty of the University of Ljubljana (BF UL) and the director of Nonstop Food d.o.o., together with her team developed an innovative solution for the sustainable processing of by-products in the agri-food industry. Their technological approach, based on knowledge acquired at the University of Ljubljana, has grown into an award-winning entrepreneurial story with international reach.

At this event, we will host Eva Mustafa, alumna of BF UL and the director of Nonstop Food d.o.o., who will share her entrepreneurial journey. She will present how she and her team developed an innovation addressing the challenge of by-products in the food industry.

Nonstop Food was founded by three food science students with a vision of sustainably utilising high-quality side-stream raw materials in the agri-food sector. Drawing on expertise gained at the BF UL, they developed their own technological process for transforming raw materials such as brewer’s spent grain into a stable and functional food product.

Their innovation received:

• 2nd place at the EIT Jumpstarter competition in Athens (Food category),
• 2nd place at the European innovation competition BioRural in Brussels,
• Rector’s Award of the University of Ljubljana for the best innovation in the HUD category.

Throughout their entrepreneurial journey, they have gained valuable experience in company management, product development, and understanding the agri-food market. They have built a strong collaboration network and actively engaged in the Slovenian entrepreneurial ecosystem.

A Cup of Knowledge events (SL: Skodelica znanja) are organised in a pleasant and informal setting, hosting outstanding guests who share their experiences of transferring knowledge from the laboratory into practice — inspiring new pathways between science, entrepreneurship, and societal impact.
