I. Personal Data Protection
At the University of Ljubljana, we respect your privacy and will protect your personal data in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation – GDPR), the Personal Data Protection Act (Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia, No. 163/22 – ZVOP-2), and internal acts of the University of Ljubljana.
1. Data Controller
The controller of personal data processed in accordance with these rules is the University of Ljubljana, Kongresni trg 12, 1000 Ljubljana.

3. Data Processor
For the purpose of operating the website, the University of Ljubljana uses an external personal data processor. The mutual relationship and obligations, including data protection, are defined and regulated by a written contract.
The contractual data processor for personal data collected through the website is CNJ d.o.o., Dunajska 47, 1000 Ljubljana, Slovenia.
4. Purposes of Processing Based on Consent
The University of Ljubljana processes the following personal data—name, surname, email address, and organization—based on the individual’s consent, which is provided when accessing restricted sections of the website. These data are collected via an external application.
The data are processed for the following purposes:
- to enable access to restricted areas of the website,
- to collect usage statistics related to the competence search service,
- and to facilitate communication with users seeking research competencies through the platform.
5. Retention Period of Personal Data
Personal data obtained based on consent for the above-mentioned purposes is processed and stored until the consent is revoked.
6. Rights of the Individual
Based on the consent given for the above-mentioned purposes, you may exercise the following rights at any time:
- The right to access your personal data;
- The right to rectify or supplement personal data;
- The right to delete personal data;
- The right to restrict the processing of personal data (in certain cases);
- The right to data portability – in the case of a contract or personal consent and when processing is carried out by automated means.

Right to lodge a complaint: If you believe that your rights are not being properly enforced, we encourage you to contact us first. If this does not resolve the issue, you may file a complaint with the Information Commissioner of the Republic of Slovenia.
